My back from vacation blues, is because of my most recent trip to visit family in Michigan.  Both of my parents grew up in Michigan and I have many childhood memories there.  I loved that I saw way more trees than people unlike San Diego.  On my list of things to do was, float down the river, swim in lake Michigan, drink wine and laugh, sit out side at night by the fire, enjoy a thunder storm, cook for my family, and last but not least enjoy my family!  I was able to do all of this and much more.  You might not think of Michigan as a vacation you must go on, but I am here to tell you don't count this wonderful state out!  The lake is much like the ocean with out the salt water, it is crystal clear and so warm in the summer.  There are river and lakes everywhere, along with so many beautiful trees.  There are fun islands like Mackinac, no cars just bikes and horses!  So next time you are planning that vacation think of Michigan and give it a try.  These pictures are from my cousin Nicole and my Uncle Curt.  Arent they great?!

Picture by my cousin Nicole, she got up extra early to catch the light.

Marissa (my sister) and I fishing.  Well I guess I was just watching and coaching:)

The river we float down.

The pond we all grew up fishing in.  How many people can say they have their own pond!

Great picture from Uncle Curt!  This trail is old railroad tracks, great for running and long bike rides:) River is on the left.

Wild turkey right out side.

Dance party in the kitchen!!!

I sat every morning with my cup of coffee and looked out into this field.  I saw, deer, turkeys and lots of birds.  I will miss the quite of morning here!
