April 15th Sunday
I can’t believe we have been camping for over a week! There
has not been a moment yet that I regret going on this adventure but there are
times that I get sad to not be living close to my SD family. Now back to the tripJ
We woke up nice and early to begin our trek back into
Yosemite. There was one stop we had to
make before we left Big Sur. The Big Sur
bakery! I had heard so many great things
about this place. I made ups get up
extra early thinking that it might be busy on a Sunday. Well I was wrong we got there at 8:30 and it
was too early, they had not even finished baking yetL What they did have was delicious and still
hot out of the oven. With full bellies
and caffeine in our veins, we were ready to go inland. Following Naggies back road recommendations we
reached Yosemite in no time.
The drive in did not disappoint, you follow the Merced River in
and are surrounded by giant rock formations.
Once again we felt so little in comparison to what surrounded us.
We had not made reservations a head of time but had no problem getting
a spot. We stayed in upper pines, they only
had 3 campgrounds open and the time.
Camping is Yosemite was a little like city living. Each site is super close to each other. We had trouble even figuring out which camp
fire ring was ours. And believe it or
not there was still snow on the ground!
Glad we waited to come! After our
evening walk we were in for the night,
excited to explore Yosemite tomorrow!
